The Reconstruction Era is one of the most complex and overlooked periods in U.S. history. To engage and educate the public, South Carolina ETV wanted to create an interactive experience for students, teachers, and history enthusiasts.
Solution
Reconstruction 360 was developed using immersive 360-degree virtual environments to recreate historical settings such as a Reconstruction-era plantation. By navigating these spaces on a computer or phone, users gain deeper understanding of what life was like. The platform includes interactive materials such as timelines, primary sources, and quizzes to make learning more dynamic.
